Winner of 2016 Vancouver Urban Design Award, the York Theatre has approximately 350 seats and includes a fly tower and orchestra pit.
This project was very much a restoration and upgrade as most of the original theatre built in 1913 is still intact. Additions to the front and south side of the building that were made in the 1960s were demolished and a new two-story glass lobby has been built.
